Lovely Kestner Child with perfect head and body. Kestner, circa 1885. She is 22"high. She has an early pale bisque socket head with lovely blush cheeks, sleep original glass eyes with original wax, dark eyeliner, painted lashes. Very beautiful facial decoration with thick painted brows, accented nostrils and eye corners. She has closed mouth with upturned lip corners, sad expression. She has Kestner blonde mohair wig with plaster pate. A tiny white spot to her right cheek almost invisible. Rocker works smoothly . Head is marked “14” ~~~~~~~~~ She has a nice early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists and ball joints. The body has some minor wear, but nicely strung. Don’t see repair or repaint to the body. All fingers and toes are present with no repairs. ~~~~~~~~~~~ She is lovely dressed in antique clothes. The dress is gorgeous, with pink wool cape. Cape has some age loss in color and some stains. She has two petticoats with pantaloons and chemise. Her clothes are Very lovely. She wears antique brown boots with buckles. The soles are engraved with letters C.P and number 9. She has socks. Boots are a little worn. Wonderful early child in lovely antique condition could be purchased with layaway.
