18” Antique German Sonneberg Doll, probably made by Simon Halbig or Bahr Proschild Very pretty doll with very impressive facial expression and blue spiral eyes The doll is around 18 inch standing. She has a bisque socket head with stationary blue spiral glass eyes; she has painted lashes, with painted feathered brows and open mouth with upper teeth. She has pierced ears with earrings. Some mine rubs to her cheeks, a tiny nick to her bisque head around the rim probably from taking her wig off. Her eyes are beautiful and seems in original setting, they are set at the factory. She has sunny blond mohair hair wig. She has a buckram pate. She has No Cracks or Hairlines to her bisque head. The doll is on her German Sonneberg Fully articulated jointed body. Body is made of paper mache, compostion with wood ball joints. It has some wear with little repairs or paint touch up around her joints. Markings: 8 She is lovely dressed. Please see photos for details. Costume is really stunning. It is made of taffeta plaid silk with cotton embroidery lace overlay. Her underclothes are nice, she has cotton old underclothes (petticoat, pantaloons and little slip) Slip has some wear and needs a little TLC, she has long cotton socks and beautiful leather boots.
