Bergmann He is a wonderful antique German boy doll by Simon Halbig. There is something very special about him, and I absolutely love his costume. I believe it is his original outfit, which makes him even more charming. Condition: This charming antique boy doll is marked "Simon & Halbig C.M. Bergmann 1" and stands approximately 19 inches tall. He was made in Germany by Simon & Halbig for C.M. Bergmann. His beautiful bisque socket head is free of cracks, hairlines, chips, or repairs. He has lovely blue working sleep glass eyes, an open mouth with four upper porcelain teeth, delicately painted eyebrows and eyelashes, and retains his original skin-flocked wig. He is on his original wood and composition fully jointed body with its original finish. The body is well strung, allowing him to hold a pose nicely, and all fingers and toes are present. He is dressed in a charming traditional outfit consisting of a white collared shirt, brown leather lederhosen, a green felt cap, green socks, and brown shoes. His lederhosen are exceptionally well made from genuine leather and add wonderful character and authenticity to this handsome antique boy. He is a delightful example of German craftsmanship and would make a wonderful addition to any antique doll collection. He is dressed in a traditional Alpine (Tyrolean) folk costume, inspired by the regional clothing of Bavaria, Austria, and the Swiss Alps. With his lederhosen-style trousers, green felt hat, and classic Alpine details, he looks like he stepped right out of a storybook—reminiscent of Hansel from Hansel and Gretel. His costume perfectly complements his sweet expression and gives him a wonderful old-world European character. Thank you so much for stopping by. Please let us know with any questions.
